UFAT is a trade association that brings together the manufacturers of technical aids in the medical sector, in areas such as vehicles for disabled people, nutrition, dressings, bedsore prevention, respiratory conditions, positioning, drips, etc.
It works not only with businesses but also with individuals affected by illness, disability or old age.
UFAT is represented on the National Authority for Health (HAS) evaluation commissions and the working group of the CNSA observation and research centre, which focuses on independent living for disabled and elderly people. It is also involved in the creation of a frame of reference for training for the profession.
Created in 2006, UFAT is led by a board whose members are elected for
a three-year term, a third of whom come up for re-election each year.
The board members for 2010-2011 are:
Chairman Pierrick Haan (DUPONT MEDICAL)
Vice-Chairman Patrick Jude (HOME MEDICAL SERVICE)
Secretary Jean-Marie Mangenot (RUPIANI)
Deputy Secretary Dominique Lepage (OTTO BOCK)
Treasurer Jean-Michel Pomme (PERMOBIL)
Deputy Treasurer Jean-Luc Marcelin (CREE)
General Secretary Anne-Laure Marcelin
Specific committees (vehicles for disabled people, bedsore prevention,
nursing beds, communications, etc.) are set up according to
the needs expressed by UFAT members.
Any manufacturer who wishes to become a member of UFAT is
welcome to join the committee(s) of their choice.
